We trim our frasier fir tree in four days. |

The Magic Wand: My grandfather created this short film circa 1941 starring my mother, Shirley Clements, as a little girl who finds a magic wand and accidently makes her family disappear. My grandfather, Oscar Clements, plays the father and my grandmother, Inez Clements, plays the little girls mother. I don't know who the sister is played by. This film was originally fillmed in 8mm which I transfered to video about 20 years ago. I have since converted it to digital, cleaned up the editing a bit, and added a sound background. When I was a child and the family would go to grandma and grandpa's house for movie night, my brother and I would insist on seeing our mom in The Magic Wand. |

Christmas Traditions: My mother, her mother and her father opening gifts on Xmas morning. From how they are dressed I would assume it wasn't Xmas morning. Check out the set of oil paints that my grandfather gets. He gave me that same set 20 years later ("when I was old enough to appreciate them"). I do believe this may have been the first case of re-gifting. |
