I've been an artist since I picked up my first crayon and a professional artist for just over 20 years. I've created art organizations and served on the Boards of different artist organizations. I've had an artist representative and shown my work in numerous galleries as well as having been handled by various galleries. I've entered art competitions as well as acted as juror for many and have won several awards for my work. I do product and commercial design as well as my first love of fine art. To put it in a nutshell, the Art World is a complex and competitive roller coaster of a place. I decided I wanted a steady and permanent venue for showing and selling my art so I created Cegur's Chimera Gallery in 1997.

Although I still exhibit in galleries, I am no longer totally dependent on them for my revenue. Did you know that when you purchase a work of art at a major gallery, the artist only receives 40% to 55% of the price you paid? I believe that real, quality art should be affordable and available to everyone. Sure, I have quite a few pieces that might be considered priced for clients of a higher financial bracket but I also create original art specifically to be affordable. Examples of such works are my framed, signed photographs starting at $24.95, Digital Art Constructions starting at $65.00, Large Woodcut Prints starting at $95.00 and various autographed posters starting at $30.00. All art on this site is sold directly from the artist himself at the lowest available prices. If you see something you really like but it is just a bit more than you want to spend just contact me by email, tell me how much you love the piece and what your budget is. If your request is reasonable, perhaps something can be worked out. Remember, when you click on an email button anywhere on this site, you are contacting me, Bruce Cegur, the artist and not one of my "people."

I know that Internet Art Galleries are relatively new and may take awhile to catch on but, I try to make it as easy as possible. FIGURE GALLERY
My first love is people and painting them. Portraits, people in everyday situations and people as elements in conceptual works are all represented in this gallery. The medias used for these artworks vary from oils, watercolors, prismacolor pencils, mixed media, digital prints and constructions.

SENSUAL FANTASY GALLERY
All artists have an erotic, sensual side to their personalities that they have to express in their art. Mine often include Greek Mythology. Though the works exhibited in this feature can hardly be considered pornographic (unless you're rather small minded), by showing them on this site, I have lost some apparently conservative commissions and cannot have this site listed with many search engines. Still, I stand up for what I believe in and I don't believe in the censorship of art and refuse to remove this section.

PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY
I have always loved the art of photography and have been taking photographs throughout my career. In keeping with my philosophy that art should be available to all, I have decided to make some of these original photographs available.

WOODCUT PRINT GALLERY
The original reason that I started experimenting with woodcut printing was to produce art that was more affordable to people interested in my work. Wonderfully, the process of making woodcut prints became both therapeutic and addictive.

DIGITAL PRINT GALLERY
Art created on the computer from various sources (including computer generated), printed on fine art papers and arranged in layers within a custom designed shadowbox of the finest materials.

All buttons, banners and web art will be created with you or your business in mind. Although, by current comparisons, my prices are very reasonable, because I am somewhat of a perfectionist and my time is limited, and I have to limit the number of web site clients that I can properly service. CURRENT PROJECTS
I tend to work on several projects at a time. I generally work on at least 3 of these projects in one day. When I begin a new art project I add its process to this feature. As an artist, I love to know more about the creative process that goes into another artists work and as a gallery visitor and possible client you can see what you're paying for.   This is an artwork about addiction, smokers rights, and advertising at its best. What else should be the inspiration for this new work but Camel Cigarettes.

  This work is a comment on tabloid-type coverage on our Hollywood royalty.

  I started this work about 8 months before the 9/11 event knowing that it would create some type of negative attention but, it was something that I have been wanting to say for many years and I just couldn't hold back any longer.
