Madura's DANCELAND

"Indiana's Most Beautiful Ballroom" with the one and only spacious, "spring cushion" dance floor.

Digital photograph showing the painting progress on Bruce Cegur's newest South Shore Poster, Madura's Danceland. Progress 4

Painting in the dancing couples was next. I started with the couple in the forground, then the couple on the far left and last, the couple in the middle. Often in these posters, figures are stylized more with much less detail. The clients of this poster requested that her parent's, Mr. and Mrs. Madura, face's from an old B&W wedding photo, be included as one of the couples. They are the couple with the woman in pink. This meant that all the figures had to be painted in much more detail to fit with the portraits of the parents. I must say that it is not easy and rather time consuming to create portraits on faces that are the size of a quarter.

DETAIL

Until I have allowed these figures to dry and can go over them again, this is the most detailed photo that I will exhibit. Notice that the three women are dressed in the same colors as the three good fairies from "Sleeping Beauty." I think it's a nice extra romantic touch.
