familiar lakefront landmarks as the clock tower, the fishing pier and assorted ducks, "I wanted the poster to be warm, tranquil and inviting," said Cegur, who spent three months photographing the lakefront before replicating it in his art studio. The result depicts what the poster describes as "a tranquil oasis in the heart of downtown." "I had only been (in Hobart) once before and I was really impressed by the town," Cegur said. "The comment I hear most often about the poster is that it makes you feel as if you could walk right into it," he said. Mayor Linda Buzinec said the poster depicts the reality of what the city has to offer residents and visitors alike. "I know people are already enjoying the lakefront, and the South Shore poster will put Hobart on the map more than it already is," she said. The city of Hobart joined with HIEDC, a local community and business development group, providing the $6,000 to finance the poster's production. The posters will be sold for $20 each. Proceeds from the sale will be used to complete the third phase of the lakefront development. |
